IT’S THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING!
03/20/2023
You have no idea how incredibly excited I am that today is the first day of spring. I am beyond ready to get back outside and get my hands in the dirt. My back patio WILL get finished this summer and I’ll be spending my evenings writing my blog posts in the hammock. I can’t wait! Until the back patio is done, you’ll find me sitting in my rockers on the front porch. I was so excited to get outside, I spent the 45 degree Sunday cleaning the porch and sprucing it up a bit for spring. The dead grasses will soon be cut back for the new green to sprout. Until then, I added faux green with an Easter vibe to the front porch. Last year (and several years before that) I used yellow forsythia in my big urn planter. This year I changed it up and went...

IT’S MAGICALLY DELICIOUS
03/16/2023
Today I have a breakfast idea for all the moms or dads that don’t have time to be Martha Stewart but want to make fun memories for their kids. Simply grab a box of Lucky Charms from the grocery store. Then pour a glass of milk and add a few drops of green food coloring. Let the kids pour the green milk over the cereal for a special St. Patrick’s breakfast treat. Take it up one more notch by cutting out a few shamrocks and/or gold coins and sprinkling them on the table. Or add a shamrock placemat. I got mine at At Home but it’s not sold online. I linked a similar one below for a few more dollars on sale at Kohl’s. A simple bowl of Lucky Charms with green milk will send your kids off to school with a fun memory to share with their friends.
Today we have the prefect treat to snack on while the kiddos are making their leprechaun traps. Maybe leave...

IRISH SODA BREAD | PATRICK’S DAY
03/13/2023
This week I have a few simple recipes for St. Patrick’s Day to share before the big day. We all know of corned beef and cabbage. How about a fresh baked loaf of Irish soda bread to go with it? It is an extremely easy bread to make from scratch because is rises using baking soda rather than yeast and requires no rising time. If you’re afraid of attempting homemade bread, give this recipe a try. You won’t even need the luck ‘o the Irish for it to turn out. The recipe is very simple using a stand mixer with a bread hook attachment but can also easily be mixed by hand. Raisins can also be added to the dough, if desired. I’m going to try that next time for a little touch of sweetness. Decorative shamrocks were made from spinach leaves and cut out with mini shamrock cookie...
