SOON TO BE MRS. BAKER | GARDEN BRIDAL SHOWER
06/17/2025My daughter hosted a garden bunch for our future daughter-in-law’s bridal shower at our house this past weekend. It may have been the hottest day of the year so far with no shade on our back patio because the umbrella stand I ordered got lost in transit, not once but twice, and didn’t show up in time but we survived.
There was no time for curated photos with my actual camera but I did get some quick iPhone shots before everyone arrived.

My husband and son finished making the concrete tables for the event in the nick of time. The juxtaposition of the concrete with a mix of my grandma’s and mother-in-law’s china turned out perfectly with the garden theme.

This is the back patio I dreamt of when we began the remodel process three years ago. And the bridal shower is the exact reason we made it the size we did. Plenty of room for 20+ guests.

The food was inside due to the heat.

Photos from their engagement photoshoot were displayed throughout the house.

Back outside, the garden was the backdrop for the gift table.

Shower games are not my thing but this activity was fun. Each guest drew what they think the bride’s wedding dress will look like.

We took advantage of the small bit of shade under the trees for the future bride to open gifts.

It’s always the least expected family member that gifts the lingerie. 🙂

Emily wasn’t aware of the old wive’s tale that says the number of ribbons the bride breaks while opening gifts predicts the number of children she will have. We didn’t tell her until she was halfway done.

Overall, everything turned out perfectly and I’m honored we were able to host all Emily’s loved ones for her bridal shower at our home. Up next, the reception in our barn!
