HOMEMADE TOFFEE BITS
02/28/2026One word to describe: addicting! Homemade toffee bits are simple to make and the perfect mix of a little salt + a little sweet.

Use them as a topping on cheesecake, add them in cookies, add to snack mixes or spread a layer of melted chocolate on top and eat as candy. Between you and me, homemade is much better than store bought.

Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
Directions
- Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
- In a medium sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat.
- When butter is nearly melted, add brown sugar and salt.
- Whisk constantly until a candy thermometer reaches 295-305 degrees (about 8-10 minutes). Do not stop stirring or leave unattended at any point as mixture will burn easily.
- Immediately pour mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread to a thin, even layer using a wooden spoon or spatula.
- Allow to cool and harden, about 20 minutes.
- Break into pieces and store in an airtight container for up to one week.
